Every day was excepted to be his last, but he finally recovered and has been in ordinary health for a man of his age, making garden and attending his chickens and chores about his home near the greenhouse. Wednesday morning as usual he went to feed the chickens after breakfast, came in and lay down upon the bed, where he died soon after. Mr. Shellhorn has enjoyed his old age living in his home near the lake, where he delighted in fishing, at which he was very successful. He always seemed to be well acquainted with the finny tribe and their whereabouts. He is the father of our postmaster, Ed. Shellhorn and Will Shellhorn southeast of town, whom he leaves, besides his faithful wife. Mr. Shellhorn has lived in the village since its early life and was a familiar figure on our streets. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at the home. Rev. Lash will officiate and burial will be at Lakeside.
