Michigan Veteran Soldier’s Home Book, Volume 3, Page 186

June 5, 1935—Charles W. Shetterby, ninety two, one of Lake Odessa’s Civil war 
veterans who died Tuesday will be buried Friday afternoon after services at 
the home of the son with interment in Portland cemetery.

He was born in Seneca, Ohio and was a veteran of the Civil war serving in 
Company G, fifty-fifth Ohio Infantry.  He had resided with his son for twenty 
five years.  He is also survived by a daughter, three grandchildren and twelve 
great grandchildren.
