The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, September 8, 1980
Alvin L. Simon, 66, of 11982 Maple Road, Route 1, Pewamo, died Friday at 
Clinton Memorial Hospital.  He was born August 3, 1914 in Lyons Township, the 
son of Anthony Simon and Dora Cook.  He was a retired farmer and former member 
of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Society.

Mr. Simon is survived by his wife, Loretta; three sons, Ronald, Roy and Larry, 
all of Route 1, Pewamo; one daughter, Mrs. Kathy (John) Schneider of Owosso 
three brothers, Casper, Hilary and Joseph,  all of Route 1, Pewamo; three 
sisters, Mrs. Florentine (Marian) Wieber and Mrs. Gerald (Rita) Pung, both of 
Lansing, and Mrs. Lester (Julian) Miller of St. Johns; and seven grandchildren.

Rosary services will be held at 3 and 8 p.m. today at the St. Mary’s Chapel in 
Westphalia.  Mass will be recited at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Chapel, 
with the Rev. James Schmitt officiating.  Pallbearers will be Daniel and Steve 
Simon, Richard Miller, and Robert, Kurt and Ed Fedewa.  Arrangements are being 
handled by the Neller Funeral Home in Portland.
