The Lowell Ledger, Thursday, May 11, 1944


Mark D. Sneathen, aged 78, passed away at his home in Lowell at 7:00 o’clock, 
May 7, from a heart attack.

Mr. Sneathen, son of Peter D. and Sereptia A. Sneathen, was born on a farm 
southeast of Lowell in Boston township, March 27, 1886, and resided there 
until eight years ago when he moved to Lowell where he has since resided.  He 
was a member of the Lowell Methodist church.

He is survived by his widow, Grace; three sons, Wilbur D. of Hollis, N.Y., 
Harold G. of Lowell, Albert B. of Detroit; one sister, Dr. Luella Westlake of 
Jacksonville, Fla.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in 
Lowell.  Burial in South Boston cemetery.

Mr. Sneathen was a fine Christian gentleman and many friends extend sympathy 
to the bereaved family.
