SOUDER Henry A. Souder died at his home very suddenly last Thursday. His son and himself had gone to a neighbor to bring home two cows which they had purchased and after returning the son went to filing a saw which he intended to buzz wood. He noticed his father start toward the house and in a short time turned around just in time to see Mr Souder fall. He rushed to his aid and carried him into the house and called a doctor, but he passed away before the physician arrived. Henry Aloysius Souder was born May 15, 1863, near Fort Seneca, Seneca County, Ohio. With his Mother, Mary Jane Souder, and family, he came to Michigan at the age of nineteen. They made their home in Hubbardston and he spent the rest of his life in that vicinity. In 1892, at the age of 29 years, he was united in marriage to Nellie Hayes. To this union were born three children, May, Earl and Basil, all of whom survive. He was a considerate, hard working husband and father as well as an honest, upright, trustworthy citizen, being well thought of and respected wherever he lived. He passed away Thursday, March 31, 1927. He leaves to mourn his departure, besides the wife and three children, two brothers, two sisters, many other relatives, and a host of friends. The funeral was held from the house Saturday afternoon, Rev. Brown of Hubbardston, officiating, and burial was in the East Plains cemetery.
