Lakewood News - July 6, 2013

SUNFIELD, MI- Douglas John Spitzley, age 49, of Sunfield, passed away 
unexpectedly on Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Spitzley.

Surviving are a son, Garrett Evert; father, Philip Spitzley; brothers, Steve 
(Vick) Spitzley and Randy (Brenda) Spitzley; sisters, Debbie (Dave) Crumbaugh 
and Becky (Brian) Haskin; many nieces and nephews.

Doug was an avid hunter, he enjoyed camping and watching the Detroit Redwings 
and NASCAR. Doug always brought laughter to the room. He will be greatly missed 
by his family and numerous friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 
2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at 
Portland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a fund established 
for Doug's son, Garret Evert wither at the funeral home or Portland Federal 
Credit Union 9077 Charlotte Hwy; Portland, MI 48875.
