The funeral services for Norman Tasker, 17, of Palo who was almost instantly 
killed when a tire on the bicycle blew out and he was thrown under the wheels of 
a truck alongside of which he was riding, were held Friday at the Baptist church 
in Palo.  The services were in charge of Rev. Wm Hall, the pastor, and Mrs. Hall 
and Mrs. James Langston, sang "Face to Face" and "Saviour Lead Me, Lest I 
Stray." accompanied by Mrs. Louis Hatinger.

Bearers were young friends of Norman's, Lewis Woodriff, classmate from Belding, 
Robert Fitzgerald, Gordon Howe, Bud Hatinger, Philip Fancett and Versal Odett.

Attending the services from away were Miss Nora Clisham of Ann Arbor, Mr and Mrs 
Robert McKim, Mrs. John Martin, Mrs. Lawrence Martin, Mr and Mrs Lewis Martin 
and daughter of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs Eugene VanVleck of Detroit, Mrs Culbertson 
and Mrs Wolverton, Mr and Mrs Willard Knagges of Vickeryville, Mrs Ted Sherwood 
and Velma, and Mrs Bennett of Carson City, many schoolmates from Belding, Mr and 
Mrs Elvert Griswold of Crystal, Mert Eaves of Belding and Corey Vance of Pewamo.
 
Norman was secretary of the Baptist Sunday school and vice-president of the 
Baptist Young Peoples union and was to have led the meeting Sunday evening.  He 
had been preparing his paper "Conscience needs a Guide" for that meeting. He had 
served his community for a number of years with the daily newspapers.

He had observed his 17th birthday the day before his death and would have 
commenced his senior year in September in Belding high school where he was a 
valuable athlete in football, basketball and baseball.

He was to have been the best man of his brother, Victor, of Ann Arbor, who is to 
be married in September.  Others of his family are his parents, Mr and Mrs 
George Tasker, Larry and Charles at home, Robert Tasker of Palo, Mrs Catherine 
Laskowsky of Lansing, Miss Hester Tasker and Victor of Ann Arbor.
