R.G. TASKER DIES AT HIS HOME

Palo's postmaster, Robert G. Tasker, 54, died unexpectedly at his home Thursday
from a heart attack.

Long active in Palo community affairs, he was born in Palo, March 12, 1917, the
son of George and Blanche Tasker.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Palo, Order of Eastern Star, Independent
Order of Odd Fellows, Rebekah lodge, Citizens for Scouting, and a past member of
the society for the preservation and encouragement of barbershop quartet singing
in America (SPEBSQSA) and a member of the Palo Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm, January 22 in the Baptist church, the Rev
William Redman of Grand Rapids officiating.

Surviving are his wife Bertha, two sons; one daughter; two grandchildren; two
brothers Charles and Lawrence Tasker both of Palo; two sisters, Mrs. Lester
(Catherine) Laskowsky of Lansing, and Mrs. Donald (Hester)Davies of Van Nuys
Calif.  Hos mother, Mrs. Blanche Tasker of Palo, also survives.

The body rests in Stebbins Funeral home in Sheridan where friends and relatives
may call Friday evenings between 7 pm and 8:30 pm and up to 10:30 am Saturday
when the body will be removed to the Palo church for services.

Burial will be in Palo cemetery.

Additional Comments:
Original obit says his sister's name is Esther.  This is incorrect - the correct
spelling is Hester.
