Wade, father of Dell Wade of this village, died at the latter’s home on Thursday morning last, in the 77th year of his age. The deceased had resided with his son several years. He was not very widely known here on account of his having been much retired since making his home here; but those who did know him held him in high esteem. Mr. Wade was once a prominent citizen of Brooklyn, Jackson county, and was a member of the lower branch of the legislature of the session of 1861-2. He was uncompromising anti-slavery in his proclivities and did all in his power to prevent the holding of the celebrated “peace convention.” His funeral services were held from the residence of his son, on Friday last, services being conducted by Rev. D.E. Millard. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/w/wade15856nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.3 Kb
