Cherlyn was born January 9, 1945, in Ionia, the daughter of Earl K and Joyce J (Nemetz) Houserman. She graduated from Ionia High School with the Class of 1962. She married James B.Ward oN February 14, 1986. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2021. She was a member of St.John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hubbardston and the Hubbardston American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering specially buying presents for the Children's Christmas party and selling raffle tickets. Her house in Baldwin was her favorite place to be in the Summer. In addition to her husband,Jim, Cherlyn was preceded in death by her parents, stepsons Bruce and Dennis Ward, granddaughter,Melissa Hunter, brother Pat Houserman and nephew Christopher Houserman. She is survived by her sons,Michael A.Hunter of Ionia, and Anthony L.(Tammy) Hunter of Lyons; stepchildren Donna (Tim) Schafer of Muir Brenda (Bob) Porter of Manton, Ron Ward of Lansing, Robert "Red" Ward of Hubbardston, John Ward of Hubbardston and Anthony Ward of Carson City. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sisters Paula Houserman of Ionia, and Michelle (Art) Pelon of Fenwick, and sister-in-law Wendi Houserman of Muir. We would be remiss if we didn't mention Dan and Roxanne Mier who she felt were her close friends and "her children" too. b A Mass of christian burial will e held on Thursday, September 22, 20202, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church at Hubbardston. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 4:00-7:00 pm at Lux Funeral Home in Carson City, and also one hour prior to the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St.John the Baptist Catholic Church or to the Hubbardston American Legion. The family would like to thank Sparrow Carson City Hospital, Elara Home Health and Hospice,Sharon Schafer, and the staff at the Laurel of Carson City for help- ing us care for Cherlyn.
