The Ionia Daily Standard, Wednesday, November 13, 1918
Milo H. Weeks, son of John and Jane Weeks, was born October 12, 1870, in the 
old homestead in Orleans township, where he has always lived, and where he 
passed away November 4, 1918, aged 48 years 23 days, following a stroke of 
apoplexy.  

Mr. Weeks was a charter member of the Orleans K.O.T.M. and was also a member 
of Silk City Lodge I.O.O.F.  He was a big-hearted man, who loved to help in 
cases of sickness and need.  He became a man and took a man’s place in his 
early teens, and has been a fixture in the life of Orleans, who will be sorely 
missed.  He was sick but one day, and his sudden death is a shock to everybody.

He leaves one sister, Mrs. Alma Stilson, of Ionia, who kept house for her 
brother fifteen years and helped faithfully to bear the burdens of the home.  
He leaves one brother, Miles, who was unable to leave his home in Wyoming to 
come to the funeral on account of quarantine.  He leaves nieces, nephews, 
other relatives and many friends. 

The funeral was held at the home Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. V. 
Birdsall, and interment was in Orleans cemetery.
