Wendell died Monday a.m. at 7:15 o’clock, at home, 607 West Washington street, after an illness of nearly a year, the three months last past critical at all times. He was aged 60 years, and is survived by the wife, the son Fred of Chicago, the daughters Mrs. Norma Friend and Miss Hazel Wendell both of Toledo (the last three named arriving at the stricken home that morning.) There also survive, brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Collins Wendell of Coldwater, who are also here, a brother, Fred H. Wendell of Minneapolis, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Ransom of Chicago. Mr. Wendell was an acknowledged expert judge of tobacco, and for about ten years was the foreman of the workroom of the Barrett & Scully factories, here in Ionia and at Lansing. Funeral on Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock, attended from the Church of SS Peter & Paul, with interment in Highland Park.
