JOHN WESTBROOK 1924-2017
John L. Westbrook, age 92, of Muir, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017.

He was a long-time resident of Lyons township and the youngest of nine 
children, born Oct. 30, 1924 to Ralph & Nellie (Sullivan) Westbrook.

John was a life-long member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia, Past 
president of several farm organizations, and a member of the Elks Club.

He was the County Commissioner and Lyons Township Supervisor and Assessor for 
28 years, but his true passion was in farming. He was proud of his work in 
agriculture and did it his entire life.

John is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Marjorie (Moehlman) 
Westbrook; loving daughter, Mary Louise Westbrook; and many, special nieces 
and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard; and seven 
sisters, Gertrude, Pauline, Frances, Elizabeth, Ruth, Chrysta, and Jane.

Private family services will be held at Oakwood cemetery, Muir. Arrangements 
are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made at
