WHITMORE, WILLIS C.:
   IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, MI, Monday, 6-1-1931, front page:  "William (Willis)
Whitmore, 47, died at his home at Nickle Plate Saturday morning of heart
disease, and the funeral services were conducted under Masonic auspices Monday
afternoon at 2 o'clock at the house.  Interment was in the Balcom cemetery.
   Mr. Whitmore was born in Berlin township, and had lived the greater part of
his life in this county.  He had spent a few years in northern Michigan.  Two
years ago he purchased the Nickle Plate store, and was the proprietor at the
time of his death.
   Surviving is the widow and the father, Russell (Nelson) Whitmore, of Lyons.
