The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, October 29, 1957

Robert James Wilson, 85, died Tuesday morning, October 29 at 9:15 at 
Butterworth hospital, Grand Rapids, where he had been a patient for the past 
week.  Mr. Wilson was born March 26, 1872 in Lake Odessa, a son of David and 
Mary Wilson and spent his entire life in Ionia county.  At one time he 
operated a farm and also the Wilson Taxi in Ionia.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Sturgis of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Alto 
Gummo, Lowell; Mrs. Maude Honsinger, Grand Rapids; a granddaughter, Fern M. 
Stiles of San Diego, Calif.; one grandson, Gene W. Clark of Ionia; four great-
granddaughters; three great-grandsons, and one sister, Mrs. Roy Carter of 
Lansing.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the Myers funeral home 
with the Rev. Alfred Miller Officiating.  Interment will be in Victory 
Gardens, Chapel Hill cemetery, Grand Rapids next to his wife, Sarah C. (Katie) 
Wilson.
