Belding - Berneice Marian Wood, 87, of Grand Rapids, joined her husband in God’s
glory on Saturday, July 27, 2002.  She was born Jan. 28, 1915, in Belding, the
daughter of Byrell and Winnifred Carlington Currie.

Berneice graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1934.  She was a
loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and
friends.  Berneice was a member of First Congregational Church of Belding, the
Ladies Literary Club of Belding and Grand Rapids, the Order of the Eastern Star,
the Washington Club and the Good Fellowship Club.  She married George Howard
Wood on July 3, 1934, at Belding.  She was preceded in death by her husband,
George Wood, on Feb. 22, 1998; her sister and brother-in-law, Madelene and Lewis
McNaughton; and a sister-in-law, Norabelle Beckman.

She is survived by her children Donna and Dan Hoenecke of Portage, Tom and Sue
Wood of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Andy Wood, Jennifer and Daniel Tschirhart,
Amy and Troy Varner and Marcee Prothro; stepgranddaughter, Erin; and several
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home,
Belding, with Pastor Dick Woodward officiating.  Interment will be River Ridge
Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Memorial
contributions may be made to the Congregational Church Organ Fund.
