Michael J. Wood Jr., age 36, of Saranac, passed away August 30, 2014.  He was 
born August 1, 1978 in Ionia the son of Michael J. and Leslee (Dolley) Wood Sr. 

Michael was a graduate of Ionia High School, Class of 1996.  He married Andrea 
Harkness on August 21, 1999 in Ionia.  Michael worked in Tool & Die since 
graduating from high school and also had his own shop, Red Creek Tool & Die.  
He loved hunting and fishing with his boys, and especially coaching his sons 
little league teams. 

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Wood of Saranac; children, Ty 
Wood of Saranac and Trevor Wood of Saranac; mother, Leslee (Ken) Frank of 
Kentucky; brothers, Dave (Paula) Wood of Ionia and Jim (Colleen) Wood of Ionia; 
sisters, Julie (Chris) Blundell of Ionia, Kathy (Eric) Letts of Ionia and 
Laurie (Kris) Russo of Cedar Springs; mother-in-law, Cheryl Harkness; sister-in-
law, Kim Harkness (Greg Slagle) of Rockford; grandfather-in-law, Ed Harkness 
and many nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Michael J. 
Wood Sr. and father-in-law, John Harkness. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 at Easton Cemetery 
with Pastor Becky Poor officiating.  Interment at Easton Cemetery.  Those 
wishing, may make contributions to Michael & Andrea’s children for an 
educational fund to be established later.  Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in 
Saranac.
