Peter (Pieter) VerSchure of Holland, Michigan, enlisted on August 14, 1862, at age 18. He was killed in action at Tebb's Bend, Kentucky, on July 4, 1863. Burial is at the National Cemetery, Lebanon, Kentucky, grave 347. He was the first war casualty from the Holland.

Jan (John) G. Albers of Zeeland, Michigan, enlisted on August 22, 1862 at age 25. He mustered out on June 24, 1865, at Salisbury, North Carolina.
