CAPTION: The dock at Presque Isle State Harbor was only a shell of what it once was, but a proposed $2.4 million improvement plan with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources would allow for 40 more slips if it ever got underway. This photo is from June 1989. A bad ice storm one winter ripped the dock in half and local boating enthusiasts made repairs to give the dock some resemblance of a harbor. Construction was expected to start in 1990.
