p. 118 [Athens Township]
THE FIRST BURYING-GROUND
was laid off near the village of Branchville in 1837. It was on a lot donated by Peter Beisel, in section 27. The first interment was that of Jacob Beisel, son of the donor, who died the same year.  [The tombstone clearly says 1835, so either the History or the tombstone is slightly incorrect.]
