Sterling & Leander were sons of Alonzo 'lon' Rogers and Sophia Glassburner Rogers on Soper Road. Leander [my grandfather] died in 1918 five months before the birth of my father, at age of 21 in the flu epidemic. Leander was married to Marguerite Murphy, daughter of James H. George Hathaway Rogers, Sr. who died in 1888 at the age of 44 from
complications attributable to his service during the civil war.
Margaret later married Leander Soper.

George H. Rogers taxi The George H. Rogers home still stands occupied on Pinnebog Road just north of Stein Road. George was Colfax township supervisor in 1879 and lived in Huron county during both fires. contributed by Lee Rogers
