Sterling & Leander were sons of Alonzo 'lon' Rogers and Sophia Glassburner Rogers on Soper Road.  Leander [my grandfather] died in 1918 five months before the birth of my father, at age of 21 in the flu epidemic.  Leander was married to Marguerite Murphy, daughter of James H. Murphy and Margaret Lenore McTaggart.

Margaret McDonald married George Hathaway Rogers, Sr. who died in 1888 at the age of 44 from complications attributable to his service during the civil war.  Margaret later married Leander Soper.

George H. Rogers, Jr. operated a taxi service in Bad Axe.  He is also shown fishing, perhaps at the old Rogers dam on the Pinnebog River.

Jenny and Christina McTaggart of Sheridan township, daughters of Alexander MacTaggart and Minnie Croft and Neil MacTaggart and Margaret Graham, respectively.
Jenny married Howard 'curly' Murphy [Murphy's bakery].  Christina 'Tina' married Duncan McAlpine [McAlpine funeral home and furniture businesses].

George H. Rogers taxi

The George H. Rogers home still stands occupied on Pinnebog Road just north of Stein Road.  George was Colfax township supervisor in 1879 and lived in Huron county during both fires.

Located two-tenths of a mile south of Kinde Rd. on the west side of Pinnebog Road in the village of Pinnebog.
Burned down in 1954 or 1955
