I am looking for info on John C. Cox (Koch) and his wife Anna Madsen. They also had a nephew named Hans Cox. John changed the surname from Koch to Cox. They owned a restuarant in Big Rapids. They arrived in Mecosta abt 1872 or 1873. Also looking for info on Harry Bulmer and his wife Roseann. Harry Bulmer came from Canada in 1879 and his future wife Rose Ann Leader came in 1882. They were married in 1883 in Big Rapids and lived on a farm. Harry kept horses and hauled logs for a lumber co. Harry died in 1941. Also looking for the marriage of Bertha Bulmer and a Mr Kline or Cline in Big Rapids. This would have been abt 1920. John Cox had a brother that lived in Big Rapids and owned a Sausage Factory which burned down probably in the late 1920's or 1930's. I am also interested in finding all of their naturalization petitions as they all became citizens around 1900.

My grandmother was born in Big Rapids, Michigan 7/31/1891 to a lady by the name of Mirim Snyder (first name may vary in spelling) who after the birth took her baby and put her in a basket and left her on the G.R & I train, that was traveling between Big Rapids and Grand Rapids. I need any information about the birth or the railroad. All that Michigan would issue me is a typed form copy. Can anyone tell me the names of the hospitals in Big Rapids or if the railroad is still active. My grandmother was adopted by a couple named Thomas & Susan Allen who resided in Middleville. Would like any info on them. If anyone could do a lookup for me on the birth or supply me with any info, I would be happy to return the favor in the Houston, Tx area. Thanks So Much Cindy G

In Stanwood cemetery I found markers for Joseph POTTER 1859-1931 and wife Clara E. POTTER 1857-1936. Also in that cemetery are my husband's grandparents Claude E. POTTER 1880-1956 and his wife Nellie L. (HOPKINS) POTTER 1885-1977. Are Joseph and Clara the parents of Claude POTTER? Is anyone working on this POTTER family? Also in Stanwood cemtery where Nellie HOPKINS POTTER is buried I found a Herman J.HOPKINS 1870-1915 and wife Bessie B. HOPKINS 1890-1913. Almeron Hyde HOPKINS 1845-1919 and wife Jane M. HOPKINS 1851-1926 are also buried there. Who were these people to Nellie?

PARTIALLY SOLVED:
Joseph Potter and Clara McCrory/McCrary were married 5 Apr 1886 in North Star Twp., Gratiot Co., MI so they are unlikely to be the parents of Claude Potter.

Almeron (aka Hiram) Hopkins and Jane Sharp were the parents of 11 children. Herman J. Hopkins (1870-1915); Edward Hopkins; Maud Hopkins, Merta Hopkins, Bert Hopkins (1878-1956), Lucy Hopkins, Fred Hopkins (1881-1950), Archie John Hopkins (1883-1955); and Bessie Hopkins Potter (1890-1913). Bessie was married to Harry John Potter (1882-1952). We are missing 2 children, one of which may be Nellie.

I am looking for information on the Conrad and Mary Ann Bader family, the Edmund and Mary Zimmerman family and any information on the Nehmer family. The Bader family I have found in Big Rapids on the 1900 census, I've found where they came to the United States October 9, 1876, in Philadelphia, but I can't find them in-between. I am especially interested in the deaths of five of their children which supposedly took place during a diphtheria epidemic in the Big Rapids, Reeds City, Chase area. The family says they were in the Hersey, Reed City, Chase area. Ed and Mary Zimmerman were married and lived their lives in Big Rapids. I know the Nehmer family came to Big Rapids from Sisson/Lilly in the 1890's but before that I know nothing. I don't know when the came to America, where they landed or where they came from. I would appreciate any help anyone has to offer.
