George R. Purdy

Company G, 1st Michigan Sharpshooters

George enlisted on September 22, 1864, at Coldwater, Michigan, in Company A, Hall's Independent Sharpshooters for 1 year of service at age 27. He took the muster oath on September 23, 1864. Transferred to Company G, 1st Michigan Sharpshooters on March 15, 1865. He was discharged at Delaney House, D.C., on June 3, 1865.

Note his G.A.R. medal and lapel pin.
