We are now offering a Pioneer Certificate for those who are direct descendants of pioneers in Mecosta Co. prior to December 31, 1899. Deadline dates for applications are June 1 and December 1. You will be contacted shortly thereafter about a presentation date or you may receive them after that date by mail if you are unable to attend. We have now awarded our first two Mecosta County Pioneer Certificates to Edward Kusmierski and Darrell Brockway, representing the Woolworth and Brockway Families. Take a peek at the photos taken during the presentation. The 2nd Annual Presentation of Pioneer Certificates took place on December 12, 2009, when Linda Hull was presented with certificates for the Jones, Moulter, Olin and Theetge families. Stop in and take a peek at the photos taken during this presentation. MCGS has printed a book of burials from Highland View Cemetery, which includes information found in cemetery records, funeral home records and obituaries. We are currently out of what we had printed and are in the process of updating the book even further with new burials as well as some older ones that were reently found. It should be ready for purchase by Feb 2010, at the latest. This publication includes in some cases, parents, spouses, full birthdates, etc. Costs to be determined when completed. The last book was $25.00, with $5.00 for shipping and handling, but I think this one will go up a bit due to the amount of additions. We are also doing an addendum to this first publication, price to be determined soon. Reserve your copy now - Lots of info in this publication. Send your orders to MCGS, P.O. We are now offering a CD in Microsoft Excel *ONLY* at this point, of the Highland View Cemetery, at a cost of $15.00, but, it is only of the old publication, which includes postage and handling. A new CD will be available at the same time as the new publication. We have a recording of Fairview Cemetery, which includes, burials from from cemetery walks, obits, death records of different townships, old DAR walks, history, etc. The booklet sells for $5.00 with $1.50 p/h.
