I am searching for descendants of Rienk Folkerts TOLSMA. I am looking for descendants willing to share family tree and other genealogical information with members of other "branches" of the family tree. Rienk Folkerts TOLSMA was born in Ureterp, Friesland in 1833. He emigrated to the US in about 1847. According to the federal census of 1870 and 1880 he was living in Pavilion Township of Kalamazoo County, Michigan. Between 1856 and 1861 he was probably living in Wisconsin. His parents with nine of Rienk's ten siblings emigrated to the Buffalo, NY area, also about 1847. I am especially interested in learning the identity and background of Rienk's wife. All I know of her is that she may have been born in the Dutch province of Groningen. Known Michigan-born children of Rienks were: Ida (born about 1853), Folkert (1855), Edward (1867), Alpheus (1870), Carrie (1873), Alice (1876), and Minnie (1877).
