John DAVIS brought his family to Kalamazoo Co. around 1865. His wife was Elizabeth BURNETT. His son, George B. DAVIS (b. in England abt. 1845) married Susan WILDSMITH( (b. abt. 1847 in England) in 1866 and had these children; Rose Ellen DAVIS, Lillie E. DAVIS, Myrtle DAVIS, and John W. DAVIS. Susan and baby John both died within a few months of his birth, and George was married three more times. By 1880 most of the family was living in South Haven, Van Buren County. Rose married George H. SCHOOLCRAFT, Lillie married Davis (J. W.) POST, and Myrtle married Fred GERMAN. I would be happy to exchange information with anyone else researching these families. Thanks-

John G. DEHAAN was born in New Pekela, Groningen, Netherlands in 1837. He married Aaltje TEN CATE in 1865 and they emigrated to Kalamazoo County in the 1880's. Their children were; Gerhard (married Dena DE BOER), Egbert (m. Joanna KROON), Geert (married Geertje LUPPENS), Louka (m. Peter H. CLAPP), Anno (m. Henriette BOSMA), Steven (m. I am looking for information on my ggfather, John MILLER, b. abt 1829 in Ireland, and his wife, Julia DAVIS, b. abt. 1829 in Ireland. In 1860 census they were living in Oshtemo Twp. with my gggparents Charles MILLER, b. abt. 1810 in Ireland, d. 3/12/1879 in Kalamazoo, and Elizabeth G. ?, b. abt. 1810 in Ireland, d. 4/19/1861 in Kalamazoo. Also listed in the census was my gfather, Charles S. MILLER, b. 12/7/1857 in New York, d. 11/10/1930 in Kalamazoo, and Margaret MILLER, b. abt. 1849 in New York. Because of the way she was listed in the census, I believe Margaret to be the daughter of Charles & Elizabeth, and a sister to John. By the 1870 census, Charles was living in Kalamazoo, Charles S. was living in Oshtemo Twp. with the George LOCKWOOD family, and a sister to Charles S., Lillie Belle MILLER, b. 8/19/1860, d. 1905, was living with a WYMAN family. John, Julia, and Margaret had disapeared.

I am looking for Charles RUTHERFORD.� I believe that he lived at Travis MI, not in existence any more, a few miles from Kalamazoo.� His daughter Mary Elizabeth was born April 10, 1864 in Travis City.� Her mothers name was Laura ESKLERS?  I can't read the writing on her death certificate.� Mary died in Skagit Co. My gggrandparents, John N. and Caroline Taylor MARKS, moved to Climax along with their son, Lyman A, sometime between 1847 and May 15, 1850, when their second son William was born. Another son, John S., was born Sept. 13, 1855. The next record I show is for Feb. 8, 1858, when they were in Leighton, Allegan Co., MI. John and Caroline moved from Newark, Tioga County, NY to Climax. John served in the Civil War, but I don't what regiment or company. Don't know if you can find any information on any of these people, but would appreciate anything you can dig up.

I am looking for information on my family orgins. My Father was born in Kalamazoo Mich. His name is Donald Dale ROCKWELL. I also know that Rockwell is of Norman orgin and was originally spelled ROCHEVILLE or ROCKVILLE. The first of that name that went to England was Sir Ralph DEROCHEVILLE, one of the knights who accompanied the Empress Maude to England. Sir Ralph joined the party of Henry II and by him was granted three Knights fees of land in the county of York. Sir James ROCKWELL of Rockwell Hall, Borough-Bridge, York County, Being the representative of the family in 1896. Deacon William ROCKWELL was born in Dorchester, England in 1594. He came to America on the ship Mary and John in 1630, settled in Dorchester, Massachusetts and later moved to Windsor, Connecticut. So what I am looking for is contacts / information prior to Sir Ralph DE ROCHEVILLE and after Deacon William Rockwell up to my Father Donald Dale Rockwell. I also want to find a picture of my Coat of Arms. The outline of the Coat of Arms of the family is shield shaped under a boars head. On the top line within the shield are three more boars heads of smaller size and engraved underneath, "Font Pour Mon Dieu Et Mon Roi" under all in print is ROCKWELL. Can you please Help? Thanks! Searching for info about following ancestors: Theodore and HELEN Pettee of Kalamazoo. Theodore was a vetran of the war between the states having fought for the North. My father has told me that his grandfather, Hiram LONGSTREET died at Kalamzoo in the early 1900's. Hiram LONGSTREET came from Ontario sometime in the 1870's. If anyone knows anything about him I would appreciate knowing.

Seeking information on the SCHOOLMASTER surname.� Lanty SCHOOLMASTER and his brother Clarence SCHOOLMASTER moved to Kalamazoo Co. from the Fairport, NY area early 1900's.� Clarence married Mary REINHOLT.  Ironically, Mary had two sisters, Gertrude and Katherine that moved from Kalamazoo to Fairport and married two other SCHOOLMASTER brothers. I am seeking the decendancy of the SCHOOLMASTER clan that moved to Kalamazoo.�
