Greenville - Barbara J. JACOBSEN, 75, Greenville, passed away Saturday, April 10, 1999, at her home. She was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Flint, the daughter of Glenn and Lelia ALLEN SMITH. She is survived by her husband, Joe; five sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Vicki BISHOP of Titusville, Fla., John and Kim BISHOP of Millington, Mike and Barb BISHOP of Flushing, Richard and Judy BISHOP of Mount Pleasant, Phillip and Shelley BISHOP of Bowling Green, Ky.; one daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Ben GRZEMKOWSKI of Round Hill, Ky.; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Marjie and Harry ECKHOUT of Roseville; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, one son, David BISHOP, and her stepfather, Lee SMITH. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with Pastor Harry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to First United Methodist Church, Greenville.

Edmore - David L. JAKUBOWSKI, 52, Six Lakes, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at Kelsey Memorial Hospital, Lakeview. He was born Aug. 5, 1946, in Grand Rapids, to Robert R. and Marcella R. WRIGHT JAKUBOWSKI. He served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by one son, Jay JAKUBOWSKI, in 1984, and his father, Robert JAKUBOWSKI. He is survived by his wife, Jackie L. LUMBERT JAKUBOWSKI; one daughter and son-in-law, Jillian and Joseph BAKER of Tennessee; two stepchildren, Michelle DAHN and Chris DAHN, both of Edmore; his mother and stepfather, Marcella and Jim ABRAMS of Belmont; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sue JAKUBOWSKI of Rockford; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sue and Dave CHESNEY, Jane O'LEARY, both of Belmont, Cheri and Tony MORONEY of Rockford; four grandchildren, Jared, Jacob, Jordan and Katie; special friend, Scott REMS of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. Services for Mr. JAKUBOWSKI will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Stebbins-McCullough Funeral Chapel, Edmore. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call today at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

SMITH of Belding and Julie A. CORL JASIN of Mount Pleasant; his grandparents, Gerald CORL of Vickeryville, Mae PALMER of Rosebush, Geraldine SMITH of Belding; his great-grandparents, Virgie HUBBARD of Orleans, Lena CORL of Vickeryville; one nephew, BranDon NELSON of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Amanda JASIN of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Jason SMITH of Orleans and Andrew JASIN of Mount Pleasant. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Huffman Funeral Home, Belding. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Greenville - Bertha M. JEFFRIES, 83, formerly of Greenville and Stanton, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at Metron of Belding. She was born in Mecosta on Oct. 15, 1916, the daughter of Robert BLUM and Alvina C. FERRAR. She worked for many years in Battle Creek at the L.W. Robinson Department Store and Jacobson's Department Store. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon BLUM, and her daughter-in-law, Lois JEFFRIES. Surviving are her two sons, Jim JEFFRIES of Greenville, Mike JEFFRIES of Fayetteville, N.C.; her three granddaughters, Dana CHRISTENSEN, Kelly JEFFRIES an Michelle JEFFRIES; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Stanton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

JENKINS, WAYNE E.

Lakeview - Wayne E. JENKINS, 80, of Lakeview, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at his home. Mr. JENKINS was born Oct. 3, 1919, in Lakeview, the son of Amos and Rose JENKINS. Mr. JENKINS was employed as a farmer and with Ranney's in Greenville for more than 20 years. He was a member of Cowden Lake Church of Christ. He had a great love for hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was especially fond of his loving grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Delphine ROWLAND JENKINS, whom he married Nov. 23, 1938, in Trufant; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Marilyn JENKINS of Greenville; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Dennis KLEIN of Twin Lakes; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara LEE of Coral. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Jane and JoAnn JENKINS. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Youngman-McCullough Chapel, Lakeview, with the Rev. Raymond Gaylord officiating. Interment will be in West Pine Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Horace (Melissa Jane Woodard) Jenks, pg 5 News Item---Westville: "Mr. and Mrs Fred Harrington and family of Greenville attended the funeral of her mother Saturday." Mrs. Jenks died at her home in Westville last Thursday night after an illness of about one week. The funeral was held at the Congregational Church Saturday afternoon, the pastor, Jerry Bennett officiating. The remains were taken to McBride Cemetery for the burial. Deceased leaves a husband, one son, one daughter and several grandchildren to mourn her.

Belding - Darlene JENNINGS, 72, of Belding, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at her home. Darlene was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Beaumont, Texas, the daughter of Howard and Gladys COLE DUNCAN. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she touched many lives. She was married Aug. 29, 1942, in Edmore to Gerald JENNINGS. He survives along with their children, Sandra and Joe JESKO of Ionia, Steve and Debbie JENNINGS of Belding; her grandchildren, Lori and Neil BAUER, Julie and Rob DINEHART, JoEllen BABCOCK, Mike JESKO, Shanda and Tim DORAN, Cami JENNINGS and special friend Adam, Galen JENNINGS, Caline JENNINGS, Josette JENNINGS; her great-grandchildren, Joey, Alison, Andy, Ashleigh, Nick, Cadence, Rylee, Donovan; her mother, Gladys SAVAGE of Wyoming; four newphews, one niece, many close friends and helpful neighbors. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, James SAVAGE, and one sister, Arlene BARGER. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with Bishop James Carey, of Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, and Mark Kranenberg, of Visiting Nurse Hospice Service, officiating. Interment will be in River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Belding Museum. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Visiting Nurse Services of Grand Rapids for the care and help given to Darlene and her family.

She was born June 24, 1912, in Maple Valley Township to Martin and Nora SORENSEN JENSEN of Trufant. She was a special "sister" for the many years of love and care given to her mother at her farm home at Lakeview. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin JENSEN in 1953 and Nora in 1966; sisters Iva FINCH in 1962, Amy ANDERSON in 1967, Effie JENSEN in 1911; one brother, Arvin in 1905; one niece, Nanette S. STEINKE in 1958; two nephews, Richard E. STEINKE in 1960 and Dennis FINCH in 1967. Miss JENSEN is survived by two sisters and one brother-in-law, Frances ARBOGAST of Coral, Ella E. and Edward K. STEINKE of Stanton; five nieces, Kathryn M. TOWSEND, Noreen E. RUEHS, Frances K. CARLSON, Marcella M. FASE, Roberta M. DECKER; and one nephew, Neil J. FINCH. Funeral services for Miss JENSEN will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Youngman-McCullough Chapel, Lakeview. Interment will be in Trufant Cemetery. She was born Oct. 2, 1906, in Midland, Va., the daughter of William T. and Susannah I. BUSSELL SWITZER. She retired n 1968 after several years as a secretary with Merchandise Directors Inc. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Belding, Belding Kitchen Band and a former member of the Loyal Birthday Club. She was married May 31, 1929, in Mount Pleasant, to Harold M. JENSEN. He preceded her in death June 9, 1974. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Thomas A., Charles O. and Elmer SWITZER; two sisters, Mable F. DOANE and E. Lillian FOX. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Louis DAVEY of Belding; three granddaughters and their husbands, Lori and Paul MARKS of Tehachapi, Calif., Christy and Jim PETHERS of Grattan, Connie and Wes MEYERS of Lake Odessa; eight great-grandchildren, Autumn SAVAGE, Jennifer, Ashley and Andrew GELDERSMA, Brian TEN EYCK, Jonathon and Nathon SKIRVIN and Morgan MEYERS. She also is survived by eight stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, Gabrielle SHEPPARD; two sisters-in-law, Helen SWANSON of Warrens, Wis., and Rose SWITZER of Sebring, Fla. The daughter of Lloyd and Evelyn MILLER MUTSCHLER, she was born May 28, 1946, in Clarksville. Joan was a graduate of Belding High School, an avid bowler and was a member of the Friday Night Mixed Bowling League in Belding. She is survived by her children, Dan REGAN, Joe and Syreeta JENSON, Rachel JENSON and special friend Lynn JENSEN, and adopted daughter, Angie HUEY, all of Belding; four grandchildren, Caitlin and Meg REGAN, Aneysa and Rylee JENSON; her parents; her sisters, Judy, Jackie, Mary, Emma Jean, Elaine, Rosie, Shirley and Jill; her brothers Marion, Richard, Lloyd and Bliss; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Ruth BARKER, Gerri HUBLER, Nona BURNS and Lee REGAN. She was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny, in 1969. Funeral services will be at noon Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with the Rev. Greg Rensberry officiating. Interment will be in Clarksville Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. He was born Oct. 3, 1924, in Douglass Township, to Levi and Nellie CARNELL JEPPESEN. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 456 of Six Lakes, 32nd degree in the consistory, past patron of Eastern Star 417, past chairman of Montcalm Township Association, past director of the Montcalm County Farm Bureau, member of the MMPA for 35 years, member of the Card Club in Edmore, past member of the Tamarack Twirlers, and graduated in 1942 from Lakeview High School. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, M. Ruby BRAND JEPPESEN, whom he married June 12, 1953; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack and Mary JEPPESEN of Stanton, Tom JEPPESEN of Six Lakes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Blair NOLDE of St. Charles, Nancy and Eric NEWELL of Trufant; a brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Phyllis JEPPESEN of Mount Pleasant; and five grandchildren, Melissa MATTSON, Drew NEWELL, Max NEWELL, Kaleigh JEPPESEN and Kyle JEPPESEN. Services for Mr. Jeppesen will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stebbins-McCullough Chapel, Edmore, with Pastor Eugene Kooi officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Entrican. Ann was retired from St. Thomas School of Nursing as coordinator of school admissions, retiring in January of 1997. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Cuyahoga Falls. She was a graduate of St. Vincent High School, the University of Dayton and Kent State University. She was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Joseph Church and the Soroptimist International of Akron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. JOHNSON, in 1981. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas of Cleveland, Daniel and Jennifer of Greenville; one sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Jim BURNS of Larain; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Nancy HEATON. Mass of Chrisitan burial took place Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, Cuyahoga Falls. Burial was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Joseph's Church, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221, or the Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333. He is survived by his wife; their children, Virginia and Mac GEORGE of Tecumseh, Marlene and Douglas LIVINGSTON, Janet and Gary WALTER, all of Adrian, Eileen and Delmar CADOO, Larry and Peggy JOHNSON, all of Hudson, Karen and Keith ARQUETTE of Blissfield, Marilyn and George BRYANT, Loren JOHNSON, all of Morenci, Allen and Janice JOHNSON of Belding, Kenneth and Joyce JOHNSON of Sand Creek; 37 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Elaine SMITH; and one son, Richard JOHNSON. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home - Charles Fink Chapel, Morenci. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of one's choice.

He was born Sept. 11, 1930, in Lakeview.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy JOHNSON of Mecosta; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Gene BARNES of Idaho, Janet and Laney NEWMAN of BLANCHARD, Cheryl and Gary WRIGHT of Columbus, Ohio; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim WINDER of Big Rapids, David and Peggy JOHNSON of Blanchard; five grandchildren, Cookie and Janie WINDER of Baldwin, Susie JOHNSON, Pammy NEWMAN and Tracey JOHNSON, all of Blanchard.

Funeral services were officiated today by Pastor Tom Olrich of Pine Chapel, Blanchard.

She was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Douglass Township, the daughter of Roert and Ruth BLINDBURY PRITCHARD. She was a life member of Six Lakes chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, very active in square dancing, and attended Six Lakes Congregational Church. She was preceded in death by her father in 1957; mother in 1996; sister, Loretta ORVICK, in 1991; and brother, Clyde, in 1968. Mrs. JOHNSON is survived by her husband, Roland, whom she married Oct. 20, 1945, in Entrican. Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Candace Kay and Bill PRICE of White Cloud, Karla Lou and Randy NELSON of Littleton, Colo.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Carem Luray and Carol JOHNSON of Big Rapids, Roland Lynn JOHNSON of Six Lakes; seven grandchildren, Bryce and Kaitlin JOHNSON, Paige and Jarek SARNACKI, Tirzah, Seth and Caleb PRICE; two sisters, Dorothy and Rose Marie PRITCHARD, both of Stanton; and one brother, Glen PRITCHARD of Eagle. Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson are Thursday at 2 p.m. at Youngman-McCullough Funeral Chapel, Lakeview, with the Rev. Paul Riley officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

JOHNSON, MR. AND MRS. MATHIAS
AKA MATIAS SURENSEN

Greenville Independent, Greenville, MI-February 20, 1901
Matias Surensen, better known as Mathias Johnson, was born in Denmark, July 8, 1808. Anna Sophia Larsen was born on Sept. 2, 1819. They were married in 1841; three sons were born them; the youngest died when two weeks old. In 1857 he left Denmark with his wife and two sons and came to America and settled in the township of Fairplain, Mich. In 1863 he was converted to God by reading the sixth chapter of Hebrews and he and his wife both gave their hearts to God and joined the United Brethren church. Two years later they joined the Methodist church and in this church they both remained faithful servants. Mr. Matias Surensen died at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 8 days. Mrs. Surensen died at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 13 days. They have lived together 59 years and 8 months and both passed quietly away the 15th of this month six hours apart. They lived on the farm 41 years, were happy and content, and in "death they were not divided." The funeral was Sunday at the M. E. church, service conducted by Rev. D. E. Hills.

Lakeview - Norma Adeline JOHNSON, 81, of Bear Lake, went to be with her Lord on Oct. 24, 1999, in Manistee. She was born Oct. 21, 1918, in Lakeview, to Myron and Bertha BISSELL CHRISTENSEN. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, O.M. Bill JOHNSON in 1995 after more than 56 years of marriage; two brothers, Herb and Junior; one sister, Betty BUTLER. She leaves in God's hands her beloved children, Janice COLE, Cheryl JOHNSON, Randy and Nancy JOHNSON, Jody and Tom BAMBAS; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harry, L.T., Dean and Floyd CHRISTENSEN; one sister, Janeta KLUNDER; one brother-in-law, Don BUTLER; friends, Jim and Janet. We will miss your spunky personality, busy hands making beautiful quilts, your humor and forthrightness and all the fun things that you have been. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday after visitation at Youngman-McCullough Chapel, Lakeview. Visitation for Mrs. Johnson will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lakeview - Russell E. JOHNSON, 73, Lakeview, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at Kelsey Memorial Hospital, Lakeview. Mr. JOHNSON was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Broomfield Township, Isabella County, to Albert and Mary MANZER JOHNSON. He is survived by five children, Ruth Ann and Wilson MURDOCK of Barryton, Harry FORRESTER of Edmore, Mary MAUS, Mark ENGDAHL, Robin MONNIER, all of Lakeview; 30 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin JOHNSON of Winn; and one sister, Inez COLES of Edmore. Mr. JOHNSON was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Memorial services will be Friday at noon at First Congregational Church, 124 Bridge St., Six Lakes, with Pastor John Jachim officiating. Youngman-McCullough Chapel, Lakeview, is handling arrangements.

Edmore - Vivian Mary JOHNSON, 87, went to be with her heavenly Father Thursday, March 18, 1999, at United Memorial Hospital, Greenville. She was born July 4, 1911, to John T. and Maude CULVER KEBLER. She attended First Baptist Church in Edmore and was a school teacher for five years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; one brother, Clifton; one sister, Esther HAYDEN; and one great-granddaughter. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Merrill Lee and Barbara JOHNSON of Edmore; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice Lu and Glenn PRITCHARD of Eagle, Maudine Ann and Charles SMITH of Portland, Rosalynn Kay and Danny NORTHRUP of Shipshewana, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Stebbins-McCullough Chapel, Edmore. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the chapel. Interment will be in Vinewood Cemetery, Edmore.

Lansing - Marrietta JOHNSTON, 62, Lansing, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999. She was born Sept. 12, 1936, in Butternut, the daughter of Arthur and Beth FRIEND BENNETT. She was a homemaker, crafter and award-winning gardener. She is survived by a loving companion, Curtis WOODRING of Lansing; five sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Susan JOHNSTON of North Richland Hills, Texas, Brent and Jacqueline JOHNSTON of Sterling Heights, Christopher and Patti JOHNSTON of Crystal, Darren and Amber JOHNSTON of Des Moines, Iowa, Todd and Ellen JOHNSTON of Munising; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Basil. Memorial services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing, with the Rev. Larry Kent officiating. Interment will be in Crystal Cemetery, Crystal.

Belding - Doris O. JONAS, 90, Belding, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in Summerland Key, Fla. She was born Nov. 17, 1909, in Belding to Charles and Alta LUSCOMB JENSON. She graduated from Belding High School class of 1927. She was former co-owner with her husband, Carl, of Jonas Pontiac and the John Deere dealership, Belding. She married Carl A. JONAS in March of 1929 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Miriam. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1998. She is survived by her children, Jean and Harold SCHEID, Bud and Loraine JONAS, all of Belding, Shirley and Bill JOHNSON of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Adell JENSON of Belding; and one sister, Veronia LESLIE of Ionia. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Thelma ANDERSON. In accordance with her wishes cremation has been held. Private funeral services will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Pinkney Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alvah N. Belding Library. Arrangements have been handled by the Johnson Funeral Home, Belding.

Minneapolis, Minn. - Edward W. Jones, 82 died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at the Masonic Home, Bloomington, Minn. He was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Oakfield Township, Kent County, to Thomas and Nina ELLIS JONES. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth EYER and Lois BOWLER. He is survived by his wife, Adriana, of 30 years; one stepdaughter, Kay and Larry DALTHORP; one stepson, James and Kate WILLIAMS; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Reba JONES; two nieces, Susan ZOOK, Lois KILTS; four nephews, Robert BOWLER, John BOWLER, William BOWLER and Fred EYER. After graduating from Greenville High School in 1934, he ran the family flour and feed mill in Oakfield Township (Podunk). In 1959, he moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where he worked for Industrial Risk Insurance Co. until his retirement in 1981. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Anderson Mortuary, Minneapolis. Interment was in Lakewood Cemetery.

Stella M. Jones , 65, of 337 West Fenwick Road, Fenwick, Michigan, died suddenly May 2 at her home. She was born Sept. 15, 1907, at Barthell, Ky., and had lived in Michigan for the past nineteen years. In 1946 she married Lloyd Jones who survives. Survivors besides her husband include a daughter, Mrs. Levi (Effie) Dolley of Byron Center; a stepson, Irvin Jones of Sheridan; to sisters, Mrs. Maggie Jones of Orleans and Mrs. Hazel Williams of Grand Rapids; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 5 in the Steffins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Beard officiating. Burial was in Sebwa Cemetery near Portlan, Michigan.

Carson City - Stephen Frederic JONES, 39, Carson City, died Saturday, July 24, 1999, at Carson City Hospital after a long illness. He was born Jan. 2, 1960, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Kurt F. and Margaret A. WADDINGTON JONES. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Frigidaire Home Products in Greenville until a debilitating accident left him unable to do so. He was a special uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his mother, Margaret JONES of Perrinton; his father and stepmother, Kurt and Diana JONES of Elwell; his grandmother, Charlotte M. JONES of Bremerton, Wash.; one brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Mary of Carson City; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Deborah and Dan FREDERICK of Alexandria, Ohio, Lisa DOERR of Clearwater, Fla.; two stepsisters and their husbands, Julie and Carl GELDERLOOS of Redondo Beach, Calif., Patty and Dan MACHA of Alma; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald Thomson. Burial will be in Wise Township Cemetery, Loomis. Visitation is today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

She was born the daughter of Henry and Effie SIEF BEEK, in Jamestown Township, Ottawa County. She is survived by her children, Sandra and Loren FULLER of Trufant, Bonnie and Arthur IDEMA, Robert and Edna BROWN, all of Grandville, Roger and Jill BROWN of Grand Rapids, Sherryl and Robert MEYER of Hudsonville; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and her brother and sisters-in-law, Herbert and Marilyn BEEK of Grandville and Belma BEEK of White Cloud. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alvin BEEK, in 1999. Graveside funeral services and burial will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Trufant Cemetery, with the Rev. Aaron Sorrels, of Settlement Lutheran Church, officiating. There will be no funeral home visitation. Arrangements are by Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mrs. JORGENSEN was born June 29, 1903, in Montcalm County, the daughter of Clarence and Clara ELLAFRITS. She was a member of New Life United Methodist Church and active in many church groups. She also was a volunteer at Kelsey Memorial Hospital, Lakeview. She is survived by two sons, William JORGENSEN and his wife Clara STEIER of Orlando, Fla., Ned JORGENSEN of Cedar Springs; one daughter, Evelyn JORGENSEN of Holt; five stepchildren, Iola and Larry DEVINE of Indian River, Hazel SMITH of Stanton, Geraldine and LeRoy CHRISTENSEN of Stanton, Dorothea and Vernon ELLSWORTH of Clifford Lake, Jean and Robert ZIMMERMAN of Carson City; 29 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Jack ROYSTON of Lakeview, Deloris EVANS and Fred PAEPKE of Lakeview; one sister-in-law, Alice ELLAFRITS of Lakeview. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. JORGENSEN, and two brothers, Clair and Grant ELLAFRITS. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at New Life United Methodist Church, Lakeview, with the Revs. Larry Brown and James Bradshaw officiating. JORGENSEN, MYRON "MIKE" C.

Greenville - Myron C. "Mike" JORGENSEN, 79, Trufant, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, Feb. 7, 1999, at his home. He was born Aug. 6, 1919, in Trufant, the son of Andrew and Madae NYRAND JORGENSEN and was a lifelong resident of Trufant. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Myron served his country in World War II with the Third Army, 999th Signal Corps in Europe. He was a charter member and life member of Hough-Pontius Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3701, Lakeview, and a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Trufant. He married Barbara FOX on June 22, 1946, at Sparta. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ezra B. JORGENSEN. He will be proudly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Barbara JORGENSEN; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Duane and Mary Anne JORGENSEN of Elk Rapids, Carmen JORGENSEN of Trufant, Randy and Lois JORGENSEN of Williamsburg; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several cousins, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Trufant, with Pastor Kurt Peterson officiating. Military honors will follow, conducted by Hough-Pontius VFW Post 3701. Burial will be in Trufant Cemetery in the spring. Envelopes for memorial contributions to St. Thomas Lutheran Church or the charity of one's choice are available at the Brown-Teman Funeral Home, Greenville, where the family will receive relatives and friends today from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Belding - David J. JOSLYN, 52, of Belding, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at his home. He was born June 5, 1947, in Belding, the son of William and Louise JONES JOSLYN. He graduated from Ionia High School with the class of 1967. David was employed at Extruded Metals Corp. for 33 years and served as a supervisor for several years. He was married April 15, 1969, in Ionia, to Diana ANTCLIFF. She survives along with their children, Jody and Trevor LE BARRE of Carson City, Jamie and David MIDDLING of Greenville; two grandchildren, Spencer MIDDLING and Cole LA BARRE; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sandy and Doug STRICKLING of Ionia, Cindy ANDERSON of Greenville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Kathy JOSLYN of Riverdale, Edward and Tracy JOSLYN of Washington; and his mother, Louise JOSLYN of Belding. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial will be in Orleans Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clinton County Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Graftan, Va. - Macie Ruth JUNKELMAN, 59, of Yorktown, Va., left this earth to be with the Lord, Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999. She was born Sept. 21, 1940, in Harlington, Texas. In June 1958, she married Robert William "Bob" JUNKELMAN, who in addition to being her husband, was her "friend and buddy". She was a wonderful, loving, caring person who loved and cherished her children and her grandchildren. In 1972, Mrs. JUNKELMAN began a career with Langley Federal Credit Union, in the bookkeeping department. In 1998, she retired as assistant vice president of operations with 25 years of service. Mrs. JUNKELMAN was preceded in death by her parents, Marcie L. and Daniel A. WILLIAMS; one brother, Paul E. WILLIAMS, and his wife, Emma, of Weslaco, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bob; a son, Robert W. II and his wife Kathryn; and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily, Katie, Sarah, all of Belding; a son, Charles Jeffrey of Newport News, Va.; a daughter, Joni Lynn HUNT and her husband, Tim; and four grandchildren, Andrew, Alexander, Austin, Ashton, all of Stuart, Va.; a stepdaughter, Deborah RYAN and her husband, Mike, and their family, all of Honor; four brothers, David L.P. WILLIAMS of Jacksonville, Fla., Dan WILLIAMS and his wife, Bert, of New Ilberia, La., Roger WILLIAMS and his wife, Joan, of Harlington, Texas, Sam WILLIAMS and his wife, Dee, of Tuscon, Ariz., John L. WILLIAMS and his wife, Sue, of Bayview, Texas; a sister-in-law, Carolynn PRATT and her husband, Terry, of Guilford, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va., with the Rev. Richard D. Harrell officiating. Burial will be in private. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that friends, neighbors and co-workers join them for a celebration of Ruth's life at the VEPCO Club House, Waterview Road, following the funeral service.
