BROWN MI 1870s. Searching for Alpheus BROWN, who traveled "from Michigan" to Kenton OH in 1877, probably for his brother Loomis BROWN's funeral. His Gnephew Spencer BROWN visited MI, probably to visit Alpheus, in 1900. Don't know location within MI. Searching especially for marriage or death records, and information on descendants or ancestors.

Children of Rasmus and Katherine were; Alfred (b- 1873)(m-Emma Loantha KNIGHT); Amanda (b-1876)(m-Nelson SHELL); Alma (b- 1878)(m-William BRECKON). Children of Katherine's marriage to ? JOHNSON were; Ellen (b-1883)(m-Grant CHITTENDEN); June (b-1885).

GREENWALT, Wm. A., was the son of Melinda and Jas Wm. GREENWALT. His name is mentioned in an obit for Melinda & Jas,. who died within two weeks of each other in Ks. She d. 30 Mar. 1912 and he 13 Apr 1912. Wm A is listed as a survivor living in Saranac, Mi. The other children of this family were: Viola KERR,Birdie SHAFFER,Louis E. GREENWALT and Clarence L. GREENWALT. The last child born 1 Jan 1912, was Lester Charles GREENWALT d. 18 June 1912. Would appreciate any info of this family and where they went from Michigan. Thank you.

HOODENPYL(E) I am seeking any information on the HOODENPYL(E) line. My ancestor was Philip HOODENPYLE born Holland circa 1756. He immigrated to America with a wife and a son circa 1781. The wife did not like America, left Philip, tok the son to Holland where she divorced Phillip. According to family lore the son returned to America settling in Michigan. I do not know the son's name or date of birth. I would appreciate any information on any Hoodenpyl(e).

I am looking for any information on P.B. SHERMAN and Emily LIKAL (or similar spelling). P.B. came from N.Y., Emily is Canadian. They moved from Michigan to Indiana with at least three children, Thomas, Peter, and William. They were in Mich. around 1850/1870, maybe as early as 1840. P.B. was born 23 Sep 1820 in N.Y. Emily was born 23 Mar 1826 in Canada. May have had other children than the three mentioned.

Seeking birthdate, parents, other ancestors of Frank DEPENDER (my wife's grandfather) who moved from MI to OR about 1900 married Rena BURKS then moved to WA about 1915. A national telephone search bore little fruit. I have only found addresses for her Washington state relatives and a couple of dePender families in Grand Rapids, MI but they don't respond to letters. My wife's mother was adopted. Please help us to trace this our only option for learning of her forebears.

FOREY;BLIZZARD;1860 - 1884 Mary Elizabeth FOREY who married Andrew Jackson MOORE at Manistee on 11 Aug 1872; William Henry FOREY who married Catherine LINKER at Manistee on 24 May, 1884; James Augustus FOREY who was residing with the family of Sebastian MILETSKY in Manistee in the 1860 census. Nathan and Mary BLIZZARD who son George was born 7 Oct 1848 (I don't know where). They were present as witnesses to the marriage of William Henry FOREY above.

Looking for any information on the family of John and Lucy (BALDWIN) BESSEY/BESSEE who were married in NY about 1810 and moved to MI sometime after 1820. They had the following children: Amanda, Phillip, John, Sarah Elizabeth, Marietta, Lydia, Lucy Mariah, Charles and Caroline. The last two were born in MI, county unknown. I am searching for Arnold Doyle WALLACE born ca. 1916-1920 in Al. last time that the x-wife heard he was living in or around Detroit. He was married to Linda Justine AUSBORN in Amory, Monroe County, Mississippi. They had the following children: Brenda born November 23, 1945, Jerry Doyce born 12/24/45, and Ronald born 11/03/1950. Arnold use to also have a country & western band, he was a wildcatter in Texas at one time, he also worked at a Candy company in Tupelo, Mississippi. He has at least two brother's "B.T." and "Bill". He has grand and great grand children. Also his youngest son is very ill and would like to see his Father. Any information would help. Thank You.

Looking for any information on P.B. SHERMAN and wife Emily LIKAL (LACAW or LICKEL). P.B. born 23 Sep 1820 in N.Y. Emily born 23 Mar 1826 Canada. Both were in Michigan between 1850 and 1870. They had at least three boys. Thomas born Mich. William T. born 15 Sep 1855 in Mich., and Peter born 10 Jul 1858 in Mich. Any information at all would be appreciated.

MORTON: Would like to communicate with and share information with anyone familiar with Morton families living in the Flint, Wa. area in early 1940's to early 1950's. My mother, Arlene Judith Hazel MORTON was born 10/11/1924 in Bain Mn. to Lloyd Walter MORTON and Ella Mabel MORTON (ANDERSON). Lloyd was born abt. 1900 in Thief River Falls, Mn., parents unknown. At least by 1943 Arlene had moved to Flint, Mi. where she got her SS# and worked in a shoestore. I was borne 9/9/50 in Flint, Mi. and my mother is listed as married to my father Donald HOLEVINSKI on my birth certificate. Arlene died 5/29/1953 and was buried at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Looking for info on Ephriam JOHNSON family listed in 1900 census, living at 2457 C. in Calumet. Ephriam was from Finland born abt January 1848. Wife Katy born in Finland abt July 1867. She was possibly second wife. Sons, Arvie? brn in Finland abt 1872, Arro? born in Finland abt 1879, and Henry born in Michigan abt 1890. Daughters Lena (my grandmother) born in Michigan abt 1889, Hilda born in Finland abt 1881, Lizzie born in Michigan abt 1883 and Elsie born in Michigan abt 1893. Believe Katy may have been second spouse. Any information would be appreciated. They were still listed in the 1909 city directory, but I have very little information of whereabouts before or after, other than info re: grandmother

My Fannie MASKELL married Arthur LOUKS in Sanilac County, MI 1859. Her father may have been Charles MASKELL, MASKELL family in Sanilac County, 1848 as per Thumbdigging. Maybe migrated from New Brunswick, as per census. Arthur LOUKS was in Civil War, died in 1909 and Fannie Maskell LOUKS remarried, and I know nothing more of her. Arthur and Fannie had Adalaide Alvina LOUKS who married Henry Smith in Sanilac County, MI. He son of Stephen SMITH and Margaret BARBER SMITH both of Sanilac County. Would like to correspond with all who work on these lines. Have been researching since 1974, have lots of intermarriage information, and would like to complete entire linage eventually.

Mother and father unknown; census lists father as born in Germany, mother as born in New York. Family believed to have spent some time in Kentucky. ca. 1886/1887 married Matthew Herbert Allison, place unknown.

I am researching thr family name of LaFRENIERE. The family lived in Canada and Michigan. The family line is thru Etienne ESTIE and Margurite ISABEL who wed in the 1630-1640's. They had son Leonard ESTIE (1641-1698) who married Elizabeth GODILLON (1651-ca 1713) who wed in Montreal in 1670. Later families lived in Genesse County. Would like to trade info with anyone researching this line. Thanks. Joseph LAFRENIERE and wife Marie Lumine LAFRENIERE had 9 children. There are a lot of family members int the Michigan area still.

Looking for more info on Edward NAVARRE and Caroline LARRANGE. I know that they were born in Michigan from their son's birth certificate. His name was Nels but he was born in New York. His birth date was April 13, 1876, so they were born in Michigan and lived there (and possibly married there?) at some time before this date.

Seek information on or contact with descendents of Edwin SHIPE, born Sept. 1888 in Pennsylvania, son of Alanson and Mary I. Shipe. Edwin is listed with his parents in Youngstown, Ohio in the 1900 census. From 1907 to 1916 he is listed in Detroit, Michigan city directories, sometimes alone and sometimes as a boarder with his father. I lose track of him after 1916, and I lose track of Alanson after 1917. They may have moved to another part of Michigan, but I do not find either of them in the 1920 Michigan Soundex. Any information on Edwin or his father Alanson would be appreciated.

I am looking for information about the WONCH and LASHBROOK families that settled in Kimball Township, St. Clair County. Joseph Wonch married Melvina Lashbrook around1890. David and Maria Lashbrook came to Kimball Township around 1850 I think. David and Maria came from New York. Joseph Wonch died in 1899 in St. Clair County, his wife move to Sanilac County and married Christopher FOX. If anyone knows anything of these family names please respond.
