FULMER, FURMAN, JONES, WALWORTH posted by Ed Harrison on Sunday, November 30, 1997
Seek any information on Uriah and/or George J. POTTER, sons of Jacob (1785-1853) and Charity W. Potter (1786-1869). Uriah was born in 1813/14, and George was probably born between 1805 and 1813. They were born in NY State most likely in the Herkimer/Montgomery counties area. In 1845 Uriah was in Genesee Co. NY, but in 1860 Uriah and George were listed in the estate settlement of their father, who died in NY, as living somewhere in Michigan. Between 1830 and 1845, one or both may have lived in PA, but this is not certain. Known siblings are James, Joseph, Jacob Jr., Mariah FURMAN, Betsey FULMER, Catherine JONES and Roxaline WALWORTH. Thank you, Ed Harrison Lake Clear, NY

COTTON, THATCHER, TOBIAS posted by Sue Swartzmiller on Saturday, January 3, 1998
I would like to correspond with anyone who is working on the THATCHER, TOBIAS or COTTON lines from New York or Michigan. Maybe even Canada. I have been trying to link a Lennis Thatcher to his parents. From his death certificate they are listed as Catharine Tobias and Henry Thatcher from NY. Catharine was born July 4 1812 in NY to a Tobias married to a Cotton. Over the years I have collected lots of information on these families but still can't connect them. My Lennis Meron Thatcher first shows up in Lenawee Co. in the 1860 census where he married Sarah Hare. I have found him also in Inghram, Jackson, Washtenaw and Tuscola Co. where he died Oct. 6, 1908. Any help I receive would be appreciatied.

RUSO posted by Jemi on Wednesday, January 28, 1998
I'm searching for the parents of Theoplilus RUSO. He was born in Mi abt 1841 to parents that were foreign born. (We've always been told French but it could be French-Canadian) We know he lived in Leonia, Jackson Co., Mi at 25 when he joined the 2nd Michigan Cavalry, Company "I". He was sent to Kirkville, Ms. where he was wounded at the battle of Tupelo. When the Union officers left, they had to leave their wounded. He found a sympathetic family who helped him and later married the daughter. He was considered a deserter because he could not retreat with his officers. Then the war was over before he recovered. Later he married Sarah Stone and moved to AL to raise their family. A 80 year old woman named Martha was living with them. (We assume it was his mother,) Is there any way to find out if there was a Ruso (he could read but not write) maybe with a french spelling that lived close and had a woman named Martha? I would appreciate any help you could give me, Jemi
